Today, I had the pleasure of hosting Mr. George Yongo Ngala, CEO of Imarika Sacco, during his courtesy visit to my office.
Since its establishment in 1974, Imarika Sacco has successfully diversified and promoted financial inclusion, significantly improving the lives and fortunes of its members in Kilifi, Kenya, and beyond. This aligns perfectly with our agenda of enhancing financial literacy, promoting a savings culture, and providing access to affordable financial services, empowering businesses and livelihoods for sustainable development.
We have already waived license fees for our bodaboda riders, redirecting these funds to their respective Saccos to foster savings and build financial portfolios, facilitating access to capital for self-improvement.
Last week, we marked Ushirika Day which brought together Sacco from across the county and launched 9 bodaboda saccos.
Additionally, Mr. George Yongo kindly extended an invitation for me to grace Sacco’s 50th Anniversary celebrations on September 14, 2024, to be held at Karisa Maitha grounds in Kilifi. The event aims to celebrate the Sacco’s great milestone towards financial freedom and socio-economic empowerment of the community.
I look forward to joining in this milestone celebration and continuing our partnership towards greater prosperity for all.
