In a bid to strengthen the implementation and compliance of the Public Procurement and Disposal Act 2015 and its requisite regulations, I held a fruitful discussion with the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) team, led by their Chairperson Jimmy Kahindi.
We highlighted some of the challenges we have been facing as a county to be compliant and agreed on the need for continuous capacity building for our supply chain management officers to ensure there’s prudent management of public resources.
Yesterday the cabinet approved the establishment of the Kilifi County Public Complaints Committee. This committee will not only monitor our procurement system and report on its overall functioning but also address concerns and issues raised by citizens on the procurement processes.
