In the company of Hon. Kenneth Kazungu, the Ganze Member of Parliament,Ganze Ward MCA Hon.Karisa Ngirani, and other county officials, we’ve today played host to the Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs Hon.Salim Mvurya together with other national leaders during a community engagement forum in Nyari sublocation, Ganze subcounty. The engagement provided an opportunity for the people of Nyari to learn about the laws guiding mining as well as the negative and positive effects of mining activities.
The event equally provided a platform for the people of Nyari to get to know Jialin Mining East Africa Limited, a Chinese mining company prospecting for titanium, a mineral found in that area.
As a government, we will keep track of all the mining activities in Kilifi County and ensure that our people benefit directly from the proceeds of those activities, while also putting into consideration the welfare of our people in terms of health and economic activities.
