The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing and meeting with His Royal Highness Sheikh Saeed Bin Tahnon Bin Sagar Al Nahyan of Emirates Gate Investment LLC, UAE, today, signifies the strong relationship established between Kilifi County and the UAE as a strategic partner. The purpose of this partnership is to invest in key areas within the county, including:
1. Enhancement of healthcare facilities and hospitals
2. Development of affordable housing projects
3. Implementation of solar power and other energy production initiatives
4. Strategic initiatives for critical infrastructure development in the sectors of trade, commerce, manufacturing, and logistics.
Emirates Gate Investment possesses the requisite experience, expertise, personnel, and financial resources to contribute significantly to the progress of our projects. Both my government and Emirates Gate Investment are in agreement to explore and execute public-private partnerships, in collaboration with the national government, particularly aligned with Kenya’s Vision 2030.
The establishment of close ties with the private sector is paramount for me. Building a prosperous Kilifi requires collective efforts, as we cannot achieve this goal alone. I am grateful to all partners who are committed to assisting in the reconstruction of a better Kilifi for future generations. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to His Royal Highness for taking the time to meet with me and my team, together with Dr James Mworia, the Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Centum, engaging in discussions regarding critical areas for improvement.
I have formally invited His Highness Sheikh Saeed and the EGI team to participate in the Kilifi International Investment Conference scheduled for December. They have confirmed their attendance.
