I met with Monica Mwangi, a representative from a business association in the Lombardy Region of Italy, to discuss promoting cashew nut farming in Kilifi County under the Mattei Plan. This meeting follows discussions with our Italian partners about establishing a Center of Excellence in Kilifi County for the cashew nut value chain. The five-year project aims to support cashew farmers by providing them with seeds, training, and capacity building, as well as creating a direct market for their produce through an automated system.
This initiative is part of our efforts to transform agriculture in Kilifi, improve farmers’ livelihoods, and establish the county as a leader in cashew nut production.
