The Parliamentary Budget and Appropriation Committee led by Hon. Dr. Makali Mulu (M.P Kitui Central) paid me a courtesy visit this morning at my office ahead of the public participation exercise at Juwaba hall in Sokoni Ward scheduled for today.
The committee is set to undertake public hearings across 20 counties, including Kilifi, on the Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the financial year 2024/2025 and the medium term. This exercise will allow our people to give their views on the budget estimates and discuss their development needs in terms of priorities.
This is in line with Article 201(a) of our Kenyan Constitution, which outlines the principles of public finance, emphasizing openness and accountability, including public participation in all financial matters.
