Boosting Diaspora Investments In Kilifi.
My administration has been intentional on opening its doors for investors and creating an enabling environment for them to thrive.
Today I officially opened and endorsed the annual Proximity Point Diaspora Tech Symposium at Diamonds Dream of Africa, Malindi
The symposium brings together scholars and investors across different fields and walks of life with the aim of investing in different areas, such as hospitality and technology.
I must say that it’s encouraging to know that Proximity has pulled funds to the tune of over 375 million USD, which they intend to invest in a special economic zone (SEZ) named Proximity Point City Of Return in kilifi County.
Envisioned to be a leading global hub forAfrican Diaspora, the SEZ will offer world-class quality life, work and play in a smarteco-city, driven by state-of-the-art ICTtechnology that delivers safe, efficient and environmentally sustainable services for all citizens, now and forfuture generations.
This symposium comes at a time when we are striving to make Kilifi County tech-savvy through Internet connections establishment of innovation hubs and the provision of technological skills to the youths in collaboration with Power Learn Project.
We recognize the significant contribution of the diaspora to our economy and we are committed to supporting their investments.
