In collaboration with the Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, Arts and Heritage, Hon. Aisha Jumwa Katana, the Government Spokesman, Isaac Mwaura, and various National and County leaders, we have coordinated the distribution of food and non-food items to the residents of Garashi in Magarini subcounty who have been severely affected by the ongoing floods.
Kilifi County has also been impacted by the floods, resulting in the destruction of homes, property, and loss of lives. Therefore, the distribution of aid was a reactionary measure to provide temporary relief to those affected.
I urge all residents living in the affected regions to exercise caution and relocate to higher ground, particularly in light of the anticipated heavy rainfall across the country.
As a county, we are committed to implementing all necessary emergency response protocols to safeguard the lives and property of the people of Kilifi County.
