Accompanied by the Governor of Lamu County, H.E Issa Timamy, and other senior officials from the County, we solemnly received the body of the late Lamu Deputy Governor, H.E Raphael Munyua Ndung’u, and offered our condolences to his family and friends at the Malindi Airport. The burial ceremony is scheduled to take place on Thursday this week in Mpeketoni.

The late Deputy Governor’s dedication to public service, particularly in his roles within the Deputy Governor’s Caucus and the Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani (JKP), has left a lasting impact on the sectors of tourism and blue economy, both within Lamu County and the wider nation. His legacy will serve as a source of inspiration for those of us who had the privilege of working closely with him.
